Michael has been using computers since the early 80s. When his father brought home the family’s first computer (a Commodore VIC 20), he’s been hooked ever since. Not content to just use them, he has been tinkering with them ever since, from building them to programming them. His IT career began in his teens, peer tutoring fellow students in getting comfortable with personal computers, as well as managing the various technical resources in high school. Since then he’s graduated from VCC and CDI Colleges in a range of IT related courses. He has over 20 years of experience in IT related fields including PC sales, Sage Act CRM support, and Emergency Operations Centre support during the 2013 Alberta floods. Certifications include CompTIA A+, MCP and Lenovo hardware.
Michael’s other passions is the outdoors. He has been hiking and exploring the Canadian Rockies since he can remember and earned his Chief Scout award after spending many years in the Scouts Canada program. He has taken this passion to the next level and currently trains as a professional Search and Rescue volunteer through SAR Alberta.
Michael’s hobbies include video games, building computers, fixing laptops, hiking, mountaineering, camping, fishing, 4x4ing and various amateur engineering projects. He also has a daughter who shares his love for video games and the outdoors.
